AUTOBAHN FUTURE

Citing everyone from The Human League to Gary Numan and Wham! as influences on their brand new single 'Future', Leeds-based purveyors of post-punk Autobahn veer away from the darkness of their brooding previous material in favour of something a little lighter. 'Future' is more New Order than Joy Division, based around a warm analogue synthesizer sequence, rampant drums and wandering bass lines, which climb way up the neck to really set off Peter Hook vibes. Discussing the track, front man Craig Johnson said: “The song is about looking forward and supporting one another through darker times. It’s an attempt to be positive. This is probably the closest we’ve got to a pop song..." and we're inclined to agree. Autobahn's sophomore album The Moral Crossing will come out on the 3rd of November via Tough Love Records, with a full UK headline tour beginning in Oxford on the 4th. -HLMX
